WORSHIP PLAYS A SIGNFICANT ROLE AT MYCHURCH!

“Sing to him a new song, play skillfully, and shout for joy.” ~ Psalm 33:3

Music has enormous power to engage the emotions, and the Bible resounds with praise and thanks to God through music. At MyChurch, we personify that through our Worship Team. Each member of the team is a leader, and a worshiper of Christ as well. We use our Worship Team to (loudly) proclaim our joy in salvation through Him.

If you are interested in joining the MyChurch Worship Team, please read through our policies and guidelines linked on this page. If it sounds like the team is for you, fill out an application, and someone will be in touch with you soon to take the next step.

WOULD YOU LIKE TO BE A PART OF OUR PRAISE TEAM?

Participating in our praise team on Sunday mornings can be a very rewarding activity for you and a blessing to those in our services.  We believe that we are happiest when we are serving God with the gifts and talents that He gave us. We would love to consider you as a member of our praise team if you are interested.

To get started:

Review Our Policies and Procedures:

  1. Practice vs. Rehearsal – Rehearsal is not practice. Practice songs thoroughly during the week at home to be prepared for rehearsal on the weekend. Rehearsal is a “run through” of the songs, not practice time.
  2. Please be on time – In order to make rehearsal effective, please be at the church to set up at the specified times for that weekend experience
  3. Planning Center – MP3s and chord charts for Sunday are posted on PlanningCenterOnline.com at the beginning of each week. An email is sent out when the songs are finalized.
  4. Song Breakdowns – Song breakdowns and Vocal directions will be listed on Planning Center along with the MP3s and chord charts.
  5. No Charts on Stage – No charts/lyrics are allowed on stage during rehearsal and the worship experience. Know the songs in their entirety so you can lead with excellence.
  6. High Energy – We expect a HIGH level of energy on stage during worship. High energy helps others engage in worship. Low energy is a distraction so move around, smile, sing along, and worship!
  7. Look Sharp – Dress in sharp normal clothes such as a nice t-shirt, snap/button shirt, jeans, cool shoes/boots. (No hats/beanies, shorts, flip flops, “church clothes”, etc.)
  8. Be Ready to Play – Always be aware of the time and where we are in the service order so you can be ready to play.
  9. Green Room – The green room is a place for the worship team to hang out before and after services. Please keep this area clean, as it is a privilege to have the area designated to us.
  10. Availability – Please let the worship leader know well in advance if you are not able to sing/play on a particular Sunday (3 – 4 weeks in advance required).
  11. Why – Remember, we do what we do so that people far from God can see Him through us as we lead worship. We are pointing people to God so what you do and how you lead is so important!

It is important to realize that as a member of the praise team, you will have a significant impact on the worship experience. Many people have found their way back to God through the worship music. You could be a part of changing a life forever!

Are you ready to apply?

Please read the Worship Team Policies and Procedures above if you haven’t done so. Once you’ve read them, and you think you’re ready, apply for our upcoming auditions! We can’t wait to hear from you!
